I only have the outline of what I’m looking for in her atm. Plus the basic AI, I have that too xD

I am obviously willing to pay for assistance with this, an initial amount, and a monthly amount to improve AI.
Even though most or many of you do it mainly out of enthusiasm?

I am in need of a chat bot, that is able to:
- Connect to AIM, YM, MSN -and- Skype. (Even though Skype is very different than the others?)
- Do so with multiple accounts.
- Use proxies, so accounts do not get deleted.
- Show a display pic, a status msg and also a “currently typing” msg.
- Have fields for contact’s name, hobbies, etc. Store that in a database.
- Also do onpage chat in a php site.
- Let me step in for certain keywords, I would take over manually for 3 lines, then bot continues.

- First conversation with contact will be manual, done by me. I ask for his name, hobbies, etc, and I would like the chat bot, who will be doing all the following conversations, to know that stuff.
- AI does not have to be sophisticated in the beginning. It should only be able to cope with “How are you?” and stuff like that.
- It will be about +300 contacts every day, about +10k contacts per month, possibly 100k contacts in a year from now, spread over a lot of Skype, MSN, etc accounts.

- Chat bot will be female, possibly quite naughty one too.
- Contacts will be getting her IM user names from one website, which I’ll be sending traffic to.

That’s about it for now, any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi, Diane, and welcome to chatbots.org!

I think that what you are looking for can (for the most part, at least) be done with Program O - and an “addon” function or two. The biggest challenges will be in connecting to the various IM services (though I’m sure that there are already scripts out there to do just that), and the process of “allowing you to step in” under certain circumstances. I can probably assist with development of your project, but unfortunately, not until April or so. Between now and then, I just have too many high priority projects to complete to allow me to divert enough time to prove useful. If you still need help with this by then, please email me and we’ll see what we can do together.

Diane - Why do you want to gather up loads of personal details about people via IM?

Sounds like a bot designed to direct people to a porn website. Potentially legitimate, but maybe not.

Diane, will this be an agent designed to spam people or a chatbot that people choose to speak with? (That is, do people find it or does it find them?)

Very legitimate questions, sorry for not clearing them up right away!
Bot will be sort of fishy, yes.

It will pretend to be a real woman. No traces of being a bot, if possible.

Collecting data is only for building rapport, should have explained that right away.
I only plan on using information like name so the bot can believably talk in future conversations. (“Hey FIRST_NAME, how you doing? :D”)

People will be adding IM ids voluntarily, they will get it from a porn site.
They add cutie919xxx, which will be me at first, I talk to them for 10 minutes. I do this manually because I don’t trust the bot for this.
Then I add that account to the bot, and it will do all the following conversations.
Again, this is to build rapport, and most importantly to do DOMAIN BRANDING for the porn site.
So they keep coming to the site!

Anyway, that’s what I’m planning to do ;( I hope that’s not too objectionable for you guys! ;X

If you dont mind me asking….Diane. What do you do for a living? I mean I get the sex chat part, but usually you dont see people use syntax like FIRST_NAME unless they are computer programmers. And most people, even in the field, dont refer to the type of system that you have described as “the AI” Usually people who are looking to set something up like the system you are describing use the more familiar Chatbot or Chatterbot.

Ok, I want to clear this up, it doesn’t have to be naughty!!!
She can be a completely “normal” woman, talking about “normal” stuff. She just happens to run a website with naughty pictures in it ;D

None of you would *have to* design a dirty AI, that’s not necessarily what I’m asking. If you are up for that too, then great, but if I could find somebody to help me code and design a normal one, I’d be very happy.

I have studied 3 semesters of Computer Science, quit that to do online marketing, I run several websites and do other stuff, like email autoresponders. But I am not a very good coder.
I take interest in Artificial intelligence, at least when it comes to 1on1 communication.

She should just handle regular conversations, basic ones at that.
So the contact gets reminded of her and her site, visits the site again! Monetization happens on the site!

I doubt that anyone has a problem with the entertainment or commercial aspects of what you are planning to do or the way you are planning to execute them. It’s just that the system as you specified it would be the perfect tool for a phishing scam so we can’t help being a bit suspicious. AI in general and chatbots in particular are increasingly being used for nefarious purposes and it is in our best interests to protect our good names.

It would help your credibility significantly if you were to complete your profile with your real name, photo, qualifications and interests so we know who we are dealing with. We aren’t singling you out in that regard, it is generally this forum’s policy. (Note that there are still a few paranoid prima donnas resisting this policy, but their credibility can’t help but suffer as a result of that attitude. Just saying.)

I’m pretty sure that what Andrew and Steve were referring to lie more along the lines of “shady (and possibly illegal) business practices”, and in some respects I can see their point, but I’m a bit more trusting at first than they are. However, that said, if I came to feel that your project was being used for illegal or unethical practices, I would have to withdraw my support, and in the case of anything illegal going on, I would also assist any authorities that may have jurisdiction.

The thing is, though, that as long as everything is above-board, I have no problem with supporting this project. I think that it’s a potential “step in the right direction”, not in the advancement of AI, but in an expansion into an area of social media that so far hasn’t been fully explored (in my opinion).

But I can’t help with the “naughty” part. Porn may have helped build the Internet, but if I can’t have it, I don’t want to see/hear about/read it. And if I can have it, then why would I need to see/hear about/read it?

Your shopping list was quite advanced and included things like “proxies to insure that user accounts dont get deleted”.  Usually I dont associate using proxies with user accounts, but I do associate them with covering my tracks. Again please dont take offence, to be honest I thought you might be a law enforcement agent. Here in the US there is a huge push for cyber security coming from the highest levels due to some very high profile break ins. I cant tell you how often Ive been asked to “hack into XYZ corp” The system that you are describing is exactly what I would design if I wanted to create a system for accessing a home computer or laptop and using that access to move laterally onto a major network. My concern with “naughty pictures” has nothing to to with visible content (No judgment here) but is specifically related to the field of Steganography or buffer over flow attacks. So when combined with a specific request for an ability to utilize proxies, it made all my warning bells go off.

edit: Ahh, Vincent, okay! Yeah, should have informed you about that, too, right away. I certainly don’t want you to hack into anything :D Proxies are needed, I believe, so the IM accounts don’t get wiped out..

Do people even “fall” for these automated chat bots peddling thier wares anymore?

I remember the ol’ days when MSN was popular and the amount of these things that used to “add” me and do this was crazy….I think everyone soon caught on.

IMO you gotta get with the times, the public aren’t as gullable as they once were when it comes to stuff like this, and I’d imagine these days you’re going to need a lot of account working 24/7 just to get one “bite”.

TBH you’d probably get the same success if you just sent a one liner such as “You wantz hot, scantly clad ladies?? I gotz them!” in LOLCats style
