I am using the Original version of Program#. I am using the AIMLBot.dll of the first version and it is easy to use with my application. I am testing aiml files with a simple asp.net web page.

Btw who is Chuck??..I am new to this forum therefore only a few of your names are familiar to me...

Chuck is our “resident expert” when it comes to the C varieties of programming languages. He’s been writing in C# for a long time now, and has his own chatbot project that he’s creating (though not in AIML), so his expertise in this area may prove very useful here. Trouble is, I haven’t seen him in the forums for a few days.

With the original version of Program# being considered “obsolete”, it may not be a bad idea to at least have a quick look at version 2.0, and see if it may be usable for your project. Hopefully, it will be functionally equivalent to the original, and will use the same function calls and insertion points, which would allow for a direct “swap” of the DLL files.

It is written in C++. It is called AIMLpad or Program N, because it talks through a notepad interface.  Its been around since about April 2004.  You can download it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/program-n/ or at http://aimlpad.com the latter having an old .Net version using a MS SQL database.  Someday I may rewrite it in C#, but for now I’m inspired by Chuck to try the Boost library to replace the YRE (Yet Another Regular Expression) code I spliced into AIMLpad.

The current development effort is taking a set of the captured and calculated AIML predicates and generating an english summary that can be fed back into the template processing.  This should be more dynamic than the canned responses of the typical template outputs.  I am hoping to generate a deeper meaniingful “story-like” conversation. Especially since I can pull those predicates from a common sense database.

Yeah I tried to use the second version of tha AIMLbot.dll but it gave me some problems connecting with it.But the original program connection was bit easy.Yes both the programs will be a lot useful for me in order to develop mine. :)
