Let me introduce the human mind map project. It has three parts: 1) identify and define human mental functions, 2) prototype these functions in a computer program, and 3) create tests to validate the program’s ability to perform these functions.
1. The human mind map is a diagram that identifies and relates mental functions. Boxes on the diagram have links to web pages describing that function. The map is a checklist used to guide the project and document progress of the prototype.
2. Harry Workman is the name of the program. It is an intelligent conversationalist designed to understand commands and questions, and generate responses using one or more reasoning techniques identified in the mind map.
3. The certification tests emphasize mental functions rather than knowledge. The declarative knowledge necessary to pass the test is imbedded in the test. The answers are also included for validation.
What Harry isn’t. Harry Workman is not a chatbot, not a product, neither an entertainer nor a girlfriend, and not written with AIML.
What Harry is. Harry Workman is available for download. (so is the map.)
If you will permit me, I would like to share my ideas and progress with you.
