can’t change profile pic

I just tried to upload a new profile photo several times but each time after making my selection, the “Choose File” button gets replaced with a partially obscured element that seems to be requesting me to log in again.

Hi Andrew, can you please try it again?
I found a JS error that may have caused the problem.
If it still doesn’t work can you let me know which browser you are using?

Thanks

Hi Arthur,

It still doesn’t work. I tried reloading the web page too, to make sure that the browser had refreshed any additional files and scripts that were needed, but the result was the same. I’m using the latest version of Google Chrome stable on Debian Linux.

Cheers,
Andrew

I’m sorry that you’re having a problem with this.
Could you make a screenshot of the page with the partially obscured element?

Thanks

Here’s a screenshot of that part of the page after returning from the file chooser dialog.

The full text of the element is (and now that I look, I see the problem):

Chatbots, virtual agents news, chatterbot list, conversational agents directory, chat bots listed, chatbots, virtual agents news, chatterbot list

Thank you Andrew, for finding this out. The 200 Kb limit is an error. This is now fixed so you should be able to upload larger images from now on. And I’ll work on the error handling to improve this process. Thanks again.

No worries. It had never occurred to me that the file size might be the problem because the new picture was actually smaller than the last one that I uploaded. Also I didn’t see the whole message until I copied it out and pasted it to you. Anyway, thanks for being so responsive to the problem report.

The page now shows an error message if you try to upload a file that is too large or not an image.

I am closing this thread.
